Cecil Cheong turns Pro

First it was Khairul "the Fish" Aswar tunring pro and today it's just been announced in the Star Newspaper that Cecil Cheong has also joined the professional ranks of Malaysian Pro Triathletes.

Here is a picture of Cecil undergoing training with his latest sponsors from SmartPool. Already sponsored by Powerbar and Brooks there are rumours that both Aswar and Cecil are being courted by Nike and Coca Cola for multi million dollar contracts. (It's also rumoured that Aswar is sponsored by Gucci Sunglasses - see earlier post).

I understand from a source close to both companies that the deals are already drafted but are subject to both athletes beating Simon Cross in the forthcoming Malaysian Ironman in Langkawi.
